"Failure Or Feedback?"

We hear it all the time: "You must be willing to fail in order to win." Sadly, most are not. They fear what others may think...which brings me to an incredibly important message this week at The Home Business Insider...

I came across some very powerful information last week that I'm happy to share with you this week. Short and sweet but very, very powerful.

Let's dive in...

Most people are blinded by their goals. By their own internal measures, they judge themselves a success or failure. But failure cannot happen to you -- you do it to yourself. When you miss the mark, you can choose to call what you got feedback. You fail only when you give up believing in yourself. There is no other failure in the world.

A breakthrough strategy was developed at the Palo Alto Brief Therapy Clinic by Dr. Paul Watzlawick for life-long learning that makes subsequent goal achievement surprisingly simple.

Pay close attention...

Although your actions may not always accomplish your goals, they always produce an outcome. If you know how to accept what your actions produce, you can use every outcome you produce to guide you toward your goal. "Whatever course of action you take," says Dr. Watzlawick, "I am going to ask that you report any small concrete indicator of success, any movement in the direction of your goal."

When you observe the effects of your actions, you open yourself to pereceiving progress toward and away from your goals. Therefore, the only feedback is -- "I have not arrived yet."

The point of this strategy is to recognize movement. We experience success in the direction of our goals without having to achieve the goal just yet. When we take the pressure off ourselves, we maintain our balance, enjoy the journey, and keep learning all the time.

Here is the ultimate lesson...

If you value and integrate the feedback from your actions, ALL outcomes you produce can lead to learning -- NOT frustration like it does for those who do not know what you now do...

This may be one of the most important lessons I've seen in some time.  We train literally hundred of Entrepreneurs and Home Business Owners week in and week out in the Direct Sales and Marketing industry and many of them are frustrated...

...frustrated for exactly the reasons mentioned here -- they often view their actions as failures instead of feedback along the way to their destination.

Read this again and again. Print it out. Don't take it lightly.

"Nothing Happens Until Something Moves..."

Trivia question: Who said those famous 5 words?

…Albert Einstein - quite possibly the greatest mind of all time.

I just finished an impressive book titled: "Action! Nothing Happens Until Something Moves" by Robert Ringer and as I often do when I come across great material, I want to share some key thoughts that may help you greatly...

The "Action Phenomenon" is more important than you may understand and actually goes much, much deeper than you may realize.

This week I'm going to share with you Robert Ringer's 4 Pillars Of Action that MUST be present or else…

…No results, but more important, no "happiness." More on that in a moment.

The 4 Pillars Of Action That Must Be Present
For You To Move Forward

1. Nothing Happens Until Something Moves:

Ideas, preparation, knowledge, and wisdom are all essential in the pursuit of achievement, BUT…ideas, preparation, knowledge and wisdom are useless without action, because action is the starting point of ALL progress…

…Always remember that. Here's a good rule of thumb:

Your feelings lead to your thoughts, your thoughts lead to your actions, your actions leads to your results.

Feelings --> Thoughts --> Actions --> Results

Remember, it's the results that count. It's the results that liberate you...

 

2. The Universe Helps Those Who Help Themselves:

Love this one...I despise the entitlement mentality that is running on overdrive in this country right now. People are constantly looking for a hand out or the Government to bail them out. It's getting ridiculous.

Isn't it interesting that the ones with the most "luck" are the ones who are often implementing (putting into action) the most plans? This may be a little deep for some but I have news for you…"Outside forces" always come into play when one takes action and the bolder the action, the more powerful these outside forces seem to be.

 

3. The Law Of Averages:

Coming from an extensive sales background I really appreciate this one. The Law of Averages is actually a universal principal which means it never fails to work. It applies to every aspect of life -- from finding a spouse to closing a sale to applying for a job. Wait a minute…we don't talk about 'JOBS' here at The Home Business Insider. Let's rephrase --how about applying for college acceptance? Better? Good.

Remember from Pillar 2 about those that help themselves? Well, the more you help yourself (the more action you take) the more The Law of Averages will work for you. This is when things are just clicking for you. You're attracting all kinds of opportunity. You're in the zone. Phenomenal feeling...which leads to what? More thoughts, which lead to more action which leads to...You guessed it, RESULTS!

 

4. Action Produces Genius, Magic, And Power:

Action is the key to the brains ignition. Here's my favorite part, and may come as a surprise to many: You DO NOT need to be motivated to act! Read that again.

If necessary, force yourself to take action, and motivation will follow. I bet if people knew that there'd be a whole lot more people having results out there…

Most people have it the other way around. It's the combination of action, genius, magic and power that produces motivation, which, in turn leads to even more action.

Action stimulates both the body and brain cells. It brings you in contact with surprising things, unexpected events, and incredible people who have the potential to be critical to your success. Take action first, even just to explore possibilities, and your creative juices will follow.

And here's where it gets interesting: "Long-term happiness is a result of taking rational actions that are in accordance with universal principals."

Aristotle said: "Happiness is a condition not a destination."

"Real happiness lies not in the achievement of goals, but in the striving toward goals. "Striving" implies action; achievement implies inertia, or an end to the action that brought the achievement"…

…Fascinating.

You see, most people "wait" to be motivated to take action which is why most people are stuck "waiting" for opportunity to hit them over the head. Opportunities never come to those who "wait." Ever...

I highly suggest you grab yourself a copy of: "Action! Nothing Happens Until Something Moves" by Robert Ringer. This was a NY Times best seller and the story about the bold action the author took to make it a best seller is incredible. I won't give that part away...

The book does a nice job of really breaking down the so called "Action Phenomenon" a lot further than I did here and will help you get clear on why you may or may not be taking the necessary action in your Home Business enterprise.

It's essentially comes down to strengthening your personal infrastructure and making sure your purpose is in line with your goals otherwise taking action becomes pretty difficult. You may be surprised at what you find.

The Price Of The Promise


The Power Of Network Marketing

Mark Yarnell, minister in a small town in Texas, was headed for bankruptcy and just about to lose his car and home. He looked for a way out and discovered network marketing. Luckily, he had a wise sponsor.

The sponsor gave Mark
"THE PROMISE". "This business can set you free financially in one to three years." But he also gave him "THE PRICE" "To succeed, you will have to face and conquer 4 major enemies."

Mark said, "It's a deal."

Mark began by inviting 200 friends over to his house to watch a video. 80 said "No, not interested"

- Mark had encountered ENEMY #1: Rejection.

He thought, "No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I've got120 people still coming over." Guess what?

- He had just encountered ENEMY #2: Deception.

Mark thought, "No problem. My sponsor warned me about that. I've got 70 people who watched the tape." Guess what? 57 said "Not Interested".

- He had just encountered ENEMY #3: Apathy.

Undaunted, Mark thought, "No problem. 13 people signed up." Guess what? 12 of them dropped out of the business shortly thereafter.

- He had just encountered ENEMY #4: Attrition.

Attrition had left Mark with
just one serious associate. But to this day, that single distributor earns Mark over $50,000 per month.

Mark Yarnell's story is NOT Unique!

You may have heard of Bill Britt, one of the most successful distributors in Amway. Some years ago, 20/20 did a feature story on Amway. They spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners and complainers - several distributors who had failed and showed the garages full of products they couldn't sell. During the last minute of the show, Mr. Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked, "Mr. Britt, this business has obviously worked for you. What's your secret?"

He replied, "There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said, 'No' and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85 only 35 were serious, and out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire." Like Mark Yarnell, Bill worked through the numbers.

Jason Boreyko, former co-founder of New Vision, told this story recently. When he was a distributor in Matol, he signed up 50 people. He heard a lot of "No's" on the way to those 50. Jason took one man, who he knew would be terrific in the business to lunch, told him about the business and the man said "No." Jason took the man to lunch again the next month and told him the updates. Once again the man said, "No." Jason sent him some more information and took him to lunch again the next month. And again the man said, "No." That went on for six months. The seventh month, something had changed for the man, and he said, "Yes." That man made Jason over one million dollars. Jason also worked through his numbers.

According to Richard Poe in Wave Three while starting Amway, Rich DeVos and Jay Van Andel, America's eleventh richest people, recruited 500 people. 495 dropped out. The five that didn't quit built Amway. All $7 billion of Amway's business was built under those 5 people. Jay and Rich had to work through their numbers. There are many similar stories. Jeff, the top money earner in Mannatech, signed up 27 people his first month.

One might think that he is especially talented at sponsoring. Actually, Jeff will be the first to tell you that he is not talented at all.

In fact, he feels that he did very poorly. To recruit those 27, Jeff talked to 2000 people that first month. And of the 27, the only one who did anything significant with the business was Ray Gebauer, who has more than half of Mannatech in his downline.

Jeff's word to you is that the numbers never lie. Pick your goal and then get into massive action. If you talk to enough people, you will make it!

Here's the lesson: Your success is directly related to the degree to which you are willing to work to find others like yourself who are committed to succeed. Mark Yarnell's odds were 1 out of 50. (Jeff's were really 1 out of 2000.) Would you be willing to go through 200 people to find the 1 who will make you $50,000 a month? Or go through 200 people to become a millionaire? Or hear uncounted "No's" to sign up 50 people to find a million dollar person? I hope you will. It's easier when you know the odds up front.

But here's the catch: You have your own set of odds and you won't know what they are until AFTER YOU'VE SUCCEEDED. So if you've gone through 50 or 100 people and you haven't found 1 serious person yet, you can either give up and assume the business doesn't work or recognize that you are working through your own numbers.

Are you willing to find out what your own set of odds is?

That means that you must pay the price for freedom. Remember that the numbers never fail you. Despite where you are in your skill level, your success is assured if you talk to enough people. And as your skill improves, so will your odds.

There is no such thing as luck in this industry. Winning big is a matter of being willing to pay the price.

Network Marketing is a numbers game
